| Description: | This auction is for a 1905 Sporting Life W601 - Chicago Cubs Team Composite - highlighted by Hall Of Famers - Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, Frank Chance (Manager) and Mordecai Brown. The W601s from 1905 were either offered in a bound album as a group or offered individually in a little smaller form on thicker stock without the punch holes. This RARE Cubs Team composite is the latter on the thicker stock and is full size. This rare Cubs W601 was purchased for 10 cents back in 1905 and is in great condition for a paper premium. It does have a vertical fold the length of the premium through Tinker and a corner wrinkle and the heavy stock appears to have been either mounted onto another paper stock (re-backed) or it has scrapbook or mounting remains since the vertical fold on the front does not appear on the back. Still a rare item that is very presentable and would look great framed highlighting a Cubs team that would go on to win 4 Pennants in the next 5 years from 1906-1910. |
